Even though I ended up only having three hours of sleep because I was reading a lot of articles related to Tourism last night, I still went to work.

Today was not like any other day at work I’ve experienced.

Usually, we were going to other places processing documents.

This whole day was spent at the office instead.

My dad taught me office work.

I was literally in front of the laptop screen for almost the whole time I was at the office!

I’m not complaining though.

It was actually okay for me.

I somehow find satisfaction every after finishing a document or excel file.

While I was taking short breaks, I was thinking of my supposed transfer of school and change in course.

I had a chance to talk to my friend and sister over dinner.

We considered a lot of things.

When I first broke the news to my friend she only said one thing..

“Why just now?”

And it surprised me a bit.

Yes, we all knew that travelling had a special place in my heart but it was just recently that I actually, seriously, considered it becoming my career.

Since it interests me a lot, I frankly don’t think that I’ll have a hard time adjusting to a new course.

At the end of dinner, they were very supportive of me and told me to go for it.

I am still weighing the pros and cons just to be sure.

In line with what I have posted last time about Pinterest, I am going to talk about my little luxuries.

You may wonder how they are related right?

Well, I started listing down my little luxuries because of Pinterest.

A person I have been following there had a board of her very own little luxuries.

What are little luxuries you may ask?

They are basically the things that need not cost too much – or even anything – yet make you happy or delighted or anything similar for that matter.

I have listed a few that I am willing to share to you.

First is having an enough extra time for a take-your-time breakfast in the morning at home.

If you haven’t noticed from my previous posts, I love to sleep, I don’t like waking up early and yet I don’t sleep early.

I make it a point that I just have enough time in the morning to bathe and prep myself for work.

The extra time I have after I prepare is the amount of time for breakfast – no matter how short that time left may be.

If I don’t have extra time left, I eat at work.

Come on..

We all know that being able to eat breakfast at home is a completely different experience from having breakfast someplace else.

Need I say more? 🙂

Another little luxury of mine is being served a meal in bed.

To be specific, I like being “surprised”.

It doesn’t matter if it is breakfast, lunch, dinner or even just snacks, for me, it implies that that certain person thought of you.

And I don’t know..

I just like the feeling 🙂

Having a “me” time is also one of my little luxuries.

Some people might not understand this but being alone in a public place somehow brings me peace.

It is a must that the public place should not be crowded because that ruins my idea of “peace”.

I usually enjoy being in a mall on a weekday because there are less people during those days.

My “me” day usually starts by walking leisurely around the mall.

If I find something I like, I buy it.

If I’m not on a splurge mode, I just window shop.

Having a meal at a restaurant after the walking usually comes next.

I stay there for hours.

I think about things there.

I write, read, research.

I can do everything there.

After eating and staying there, I walk again around and head home after.

My “me” days are just simple yet I realize and gain so much from the time I spend by myself.

Quite frankly, I actually have a lot of little luxuries in mind.

I slept again and again today.

My love for sleep is undeniable.

At around 8PM, I already had 14 hours of sleep for the day.

Imagine what I did the rest of the day.


Honestly, I came to work.

Since we don’t have any field work for the day, I didn’t need to go out of the office.

And since my dad hasn’t taught me the office work, I was left to do nothing.

So I just slept.

One of the perks of being the daughter of the owner I guess?

The work we do are mostly field work so our office space is really not big.

There are actually only two main people who do office work regularly and that is my dad and another employee.

The others basically do field work, process documents, run errands and etcetera.

And also because there were no shipments needed to be processed right away, we actually went home early.

We arrived at our home at around 2 in the afternoon.

Oh before I forget..

We went to the office late today.

I think we arrived there at around 8 in the morning.

8 AM to 1 PM… 5hours.

We stayed at the office for 5 hours (lunch break included).

This day was really short because I almost did nothing but sleep.

It was a last minute plan when my sister and I decided to come with my eldest sister and her family to Batangas.

It was really not just a simple getaway.

The real reason why we went there is because we were going to attend the wake and burial of my eldest sister’s husband’s father.

We call him “Tatay” which also means father/dad.

Yes, we are not blood related but we still call him tatay.

Aside from him being like a father to all, as an individual, he is genuinely kind..not only to the people he knows well but also to random people and the people he just met.

His kindness and intelligence has long been an inspiration to many and because of that, I’m pretty sure that he will never be forgotten.

He has made his mark into people’s hearts.

It was almost around 9 in the evening when my eldest sister’s family fetched us at home.

Our mom had sandwiches and other snacks packed for our 3-hour trip to Lobo, Batangas.

During the whole trip, everyone got their little dose of sleep.

Except me.

I kept talking to my brother in law who is driving because I know he’s tired and really lacked sleep these past few days.

He actually said that he only had 3 hours of sleep in 2 days!


As we arrived at the wake, I realized that it was a familiar place.

Then it hit me.

It was beside their house which I have visited before.

I’m not sure if it was here already when I last visited this place around 5 years ago.

It was a small chapel.

They had it built inside their very spacious lot which houses a lot of homes – homes of their relatives.

Stories were exchanged and while we were there.

Then we decided to play cards.

It has been a habit and somewhat like a tradition here in the Philippines that when there is a wake, there are really groups of people who play cards or Mahjong.

They don’t necessarily gamble but usually, the elders do.

In Tatay’s wake, it was a bit different.

Though the elders were playing Mahjong, I didn’t really see if there was money involved.

On the other table were a little younger set compared to the elders who were playing cards.

Beside them were benches who were sat on by teens and some of their parents.

I’m not sure what they were playing but their punishment was to have something written on their face by the use of  coal!

They were really having fun while playing.

I don’t know what is in the wakes I go to but usually, when I go to a distant relative or a relative’s wake, the people there are usually not the silent types.

Yes, they mourn but they won’t let it stop them from being happy.

We have this way of thinking that the deceased person would want his/her burial to be happy and not see his/her loved ones sad.

My table on the other hand is composed of both my sisters and my sister’s boyfriend.

At first, we were really just playing with no bets.

That was before we thought of a great plan.

We got the snacks that we brought for the trip and got a few and divided it equally among us.

You got that right!

We used food as our bets.

To cut the chase, I ended up with the most food.


But I didn’t eat everything since I was so full.

At around 4 AM (yes, we didn’t sleep till that time), we decided to walk to the beach since we planned to sleep there.

The walk lasted for around 7 minutes because it was dark so we slowly walked.

When we reached the beach, it was cold but warm at the same time.

I don’t know how to explain it but the wind felt nice.

We brought our own sheets and spread it out above the sand.

The nephews of my brother in law got some wood and made a bonfire.

It was a fun experience!!

P.S Sleeping by the beach is on my bucket list… and now, I can tick it off :>

Also, having a bonfire is on my list..another one I can tick of!

Today is Saturday, my first day off of work this week.

Work days are from Monday till Friday only.

And because I haven’t been getting enough sleep hours lately because I still have yet to fix my sleep cycle, I got them all back today.


What do I mean?

Because I got home late from my Friday dinner out, I arrived at home at almost 12MN.

And since I missed reading stories in Wattpad, I read a short story and a few updates.

I slept at around 2:45 in the morning.

I woke up at around 10 AM.

My sleep was around 7 hours and 15 minutes.

I was still sleepy when I woke up so after 30 minutes, I managed to get some sleep again.

My second sleep was from 10:30 AM till 5:30 PM!!!

Another 7 hours!


I know.

I slept a lot today.

But in the past also, I can really sleep for long periods.

There is just something about sleeping that I can’t get enough of.

When I woke up from my second sleep, I really felt so refreshed and ready to face another week!! ——or not.

With my work schedule, I really hope I can fix my sleep cycle so I need not sleep half a day during weekends!

I need my weekends for self-improvement.

And speaking of self-improvement..

My sister and I will try to follow a Jillian Michaels exercise video in awhile.

It’s around 45 minutes but a friend said that you really will sweat a lot after it.

want need to be sexy soon!

Have you been doing something to reach your fitness goals?



As I have mentioned before, I am trying to regulate my sleep cycle because of my unhealthy sleeping pattern.

Just last night (morning), I slept at around 1:30 AM which is a big leap for me because sleeping at 4-5 AM is regular for me.

Today, I am scheduled to enlist my subjects at 11:00 AM online.

Luckily, I woke up even before my alarms sounded.


I woke up around 6:30 in the morning and I couldn’t sleep anymore.

I only had 5 hours of sleep and 8 hours is regular for me.

Now, it is almost 2 PM and I feel very sleepy.

My head actually hurts a little but I am fighting it off.

I know that if I sleep now, I’ll wake up at around dinner time hence, make my sleep cycle even more irregular.

I am currently trying to distract myself from sleeping and finding ways to entertain myself.

So far I can only think of blogging and researching about the country I am visiting on September. (Posts related: here and here)
