It has been almost three weeks since my last update.

The past month was really toxic and I’ve been preparing for so many things at the same time which includes the successful My Everything Global Tour of Lee Min Ho here in Manila.

I think to complete every fan girl’s experience, it is a MUST to attend your ultimate bias’ concert if he’s a singer or a fan meet if he or she is not.

But of course, attending both will be better.

Luckily for me, I got to attend both and scored a meet & greet also!

His fan meet was held here in Manila last year dated November 16 of 2012 and two days after, a hand shake meet & greet was held.

His My Everything Global Tour stop in Manila was just last Saturday, July 6, 2013.

Words cannot express how much every Minoz – what the fans of Lee Min Ho are called – enjoyed the concert.

Every penny was worth it!

He was worth all the effort every single person there exerted just to see him.

Until now, I’ve read from their forum that they still couldn’t get over the concert (and him).

He is the most down to earth international star they know and the love he has for his fans can be felt by them personally.

He has this certain charm that one cannot resist.

Personally, I saved up for a VIP seat just to see him for the third time.

No regrets. AT ALL.

Because the atmosphere was so lively, I didn’t have time to focus the camera so for the quality of the photos, forgive me just this once. 😛

(Some pictures are not mine and were grabbed from my fellow Minoz and other news websites)

Lee Min Ho arrived in NAIA1 around 11PM, July 4, 2013.

His stay here was really really memorable for all the Minoz.

We know him even better now and we feel his love even more.

Every one is wishing for a part 3 visit here in Manila.

I hope next time when he comes here, even for just vacation, I get to see him and hopefully be in the same island as him.

Palawan? Boracay? Anywhere with him is fine!!

My conclusion?

THE WHOLE PHILIPPINES LOVES HIM.

He is someone who is loved by all not only because of his looks but also because of his personality.

That is it for now.

It has only been less than a month since regular classes have started but I have visited Cafe De Seoul (CDS) a lot of times already.
I go there at least twice every week!
The ambiance plus beverages and their desserts are the main reasons as to why I go back every time.
Since their menu is so diverse, every time you go there, there is always something available that you have never tried before.
Every visit always feels like the first time but once you have seated and started consuming their products, it will start feeling like..
”Ah, I’m home”.

It started with their..
perfectly balanced & mouthwatering Banoffee Pie
and then their filling & sumptuous Gangnam Balls
then the sweet & sassy Strawberry-flavoured smoothie (Sorry, I forgot the exact name)
then the healthy & rejuvenating Honey Citron / Yuga Cold Tea
then the brain freeze – capable & refreshing Blended Mocha (chips)
then the unique & interesting Cold Green Tea
then the very addictive & simply delish Iced Mocha
then the perfect comfort food & melts in your mouth Oreo Cheesecake
then if you have a sweet tooth and want coffee and something sweet at the same time, their Mocha Frappe with Blueberry will be the perfect fix
and more and I believe that this list will go on and on and on.

What first drove me to CDS?
My patbingsu and korean waffle experience at Ice Pot branch in Palawan!
I was more than satisfied and very much delighted after my first try there that I want more.
Sadly, their Robinsons Magnolia branch in Manila was pulled out before I even got my second try at it.
Luckily, CDs was being built beside my university so I was really looking forward to trying out their patbingsu and waffles.

You might have noticed that from what I have listed above, patbingu and the waffles were not present.
That is because I haven’t tried it yet.
THE IRONY.

I am still waiting for the perfect timing before trying them out and because I haven’t really had the time.
I need time because I reallly want to enjoy them!

Hopefully, the next blog post that I will be writing related to CDS will be about my patbingsu and waffle experience.

What do you think?
Am I really a CDS addict? 🙂

For my first review, I’m going to feature Cafe De Seoul which recently opened beside my university.

As their page says..

Cafe De Seoul is a benchmark of Korean style cafe that offers hot and cold beverages, gourmet products, sandwiches, cakes & pastries.

It is positioned to bring coffee and food influenced by Korean tradition and taste.

The concepts of Cafe De Seoul is based on three simple strategies; Quality Products & Services, Seoul Culture and Trendy & Modern architectural design to bring comfort and feel-good ambiance to it’s customers.

And I must admit that I witnessed all of these myself in just a span of the 10 minutes I was in there.

Their address: Unit 12, 2/F One Archer’s Place Bldg, Manila, Philippines – click here for directions 🙂

*****************************************************************************************************

It was a Saturday when I needed to get something from school.

Because I’ve been seeing the facade of this cafe for weeks already when I transfer from one building to another because of my classes and because it looks so attractive from the outside, I decided to finally take a peek.

Originally, my sister and I was just supposed to take a peek inside because we have other errands to run that day but everything was just so appealing to the eye that we just had to buy something.

First Strategy: Quality Products & Services

Since we don’t have much time, we opted for a Banoffee Pie which costs PhP 115.00 (~USD 2.8/KRW 3,000)

From Wikipedia: Banoffee pie (also spelled banoffi, or banoffy) is an English dessert pie made from bananas, cream and toffee from boiled condensed milk (or dulce de leche), either on a pastry base or one made from crumbled biscuits and butter. Some versions of the recipe also includechocolate, coffee or both.

Its name is a portmanteau constructed from the words “banana” and “toffee”

Below is the image of the banoffee pie :>  (sorry for the quality and angle because we were in a moving car)

16

17

Visually appealing? CHECK!

Taste? 100/100!! (Usually it is only over 10 but I’ll make an exception for this^^)

I am honestly not a fan of too much sweet stuff and I don’t like pies that much but because my sister wanted it, we ordered this.

It was soooooooooooooooo good that no words are enough to describe how good it is.

My sister is a graduate of Culinary Arts and she regularly bakes and buys sweets so I decided to ask her the more detailed review for this.

Compared to the other banoffee pies that she has tried, this was different.

The cream alone has a unique taste to it unlike other creams which usually doesn’t have a flavor.

The bananas in it were chunks even though from the outside it looks like it only has mashed bananas.

Because of the banana chunks, every bite you’ll take will be much more sumptuous.

The base was flavorful even without the cream! (Which is very rare.)

The dulce de leche was just right in amount and in level of sweetness.

The drizzled syrup on the top also blended well into the whole pie.

It is definitely a must try!!

Second Strategy: Seoul Culture

I am fond of researching about different cultures especially that of Korea.

Seoulites or even just Koreans in general are known to be coffee lovers who loves cutesy and homey cafes.

Also, their love for technology is evident. This cafe reflects all that.

Technology:

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a picture of the large flat screen wall-mounted TV but below you’ll be able to see a portion of it with the tumblers and mug collections they have for sale. (*click the pictures for enlarged images)

7

Coffee lovers:

For the coffee loving part, they even have this drip coffee machine/apparatus which produces their Dutch Coffee for hours!

8

The small bottles on the left side are filled with the concentrated Dutch Coffee.

Because of the mirror and the light, I couldn’t capture the price of it. Sorry!

11

Cutesy and homey cafes:

6

These are some books they have which you can borrow during your stay there.

The cafe itself has a very “feel at home” feel to it.

I (again) failed to take pictures of the wall decorations they have around the cafe but there is this area where you can write down notes on post-its and post it on the wall for everybody to see. They also have an area wherein you can clip your pictures during your visit of the wall.

Third Strategy: Trendy & Modern architectural design

Seoul Culture is trendy and modern in itself.

What I’ve said from the second strategy is also applicable here.

As you can see, their menu is shown on the TV screens.

Also, the font of their “Departure” and “Arrival” area signifies the digital age that we have today.

3

The two farthest TV screens are for their advertisements.

12

From their entrance to their decorations, you can see how modern and trendy their cafe is.

1

4(0)

Look past beyond the people here and you will see the frames on the leftmost part.

There are also stools there and cocktail tables. In the middle of those tables are Samsung Galaxy tablets!!

(When we went there though, they were turned off. Maybe you need to ask the manager to open it ^^)

How modern can this cafe get! 🙂

4(1)
5

Because of the lack of time, we weren’t able to try other food or drinks but I’m sure that we’ll definitely be back here.

14

I badly want to taste their patbingsu because the first patbingsu I tasted was really good and it was also from a korean store.

Their waffles on the menu were also enticing and the drinks were really very colorful.

That’s it for my first review and I hope you check them out!

A few years back, a saw a documentary about North Korea. Since then, I’ve been dreaming of visiting that place. 🙂

“Kopinayo days are over.. or so I thought.” – wanderrwithmee

Kopinayo = 코피나요 is a Korean expression normally used by students learning the Korean language. It means to nose bleed or to have a nose bleed. Nowadays, when people say this, they usually mean that they are having a hard time to do or to understand something.

So when they think they are studying so many things at the same time, they usually say “코피나요, 선생님 or Kopinayo, seonsaengnim!” (Seonsaengnim means teacher).

For the main reason I said the quote above, I shall explain when I blog again. As of now, I have just finished a paper work for school.

P.S: I think sharing something I learned during my Korean 1 classes can be fun too ^^

Goodnight!

After I got home from a very stressful day in school due to my long exam, I jumped on my bed – literally – and opened my tablet.

As I was browsing through my facebook news feed, I came across this article which changed my mood.

Here it is…ze holy article!!

Lee Min Ho to transform into singer and start tour in May

Popular actor Lee Min Ho will be releasing his first album and kick off a 10-city tour around Asia.

On March 14, Lee Min Ho’s agency, Starhaus Entertainment, announced, “Lee Min Ho’s special album will be released worldwide. He will kick off his live tour late May in Korea.”

“This album release is not in interest of becoming a singer but for fan service. This is like a respond to national and international fans who have supported him until now. He plans on visiting ten cities in China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines and more for the tour.”

Lee Min Ho shared, “My goal is to only become an outstanding actor so becoming a singer is out of my concerns. This is a present I’ve prepared for my fans and I am coming back with a new project as soon as possible. Thank you for the support and love.”

Well, for your information, I am a big fan of his. SERIOUSLY.

He once came to the Philippines last November 16, 2012 for a brand endorsement.

The event was called Benchsetter Fun Meet which I obviously attended together with 10,000 other fans of his ^^ + my eonnie and chingu!

For my shopping experience that made me get those tickets, visit my old blog post here and please don’t laugh at it 🙂

I honestly have not done this ever before. I don’t exactly know what is in him that made me like him.

Though this event was a definite success, I don’t think that I’ve seen enough of him. I wasn’t at the nearest place too.

But wait! There’s more… :>

My eonnie came with me to the mall at around 5 in the morning to fall in line at the entrance! (November 10, 2012)

My eonnie who came with me to the mall @ 5 AM!!

This is the inside of the mall. Still closed 🙂

As soon as the doors opened, everyone was LITERALLY running to the store! It felt like there was a zombie apocalypse or something.

And alas! The result:

Finally!! Hard work paid off!!

I must admit that as soon as I got home, I was not sleepy at all! Even though I haven’t slept for more than 24 hours already!!

Everything just wouldn’t sink in right away!! I was days away from officially meeting him +++++ a meet and greet pass which means we will be super close and because it was a handshake event, I’ll be able to hold his hand and be so close to him at the same time!!

My outfit of the day – November 18, 2012 🙂

The lucky girl with me below is Sam Oh! She is the host + translator for Lee Min Ho’s events while here in Manila!! Lucky!!

And of course……

Hand shake + eye contact with oppa!

Hand shake + eye contact with oppa!

Need I say more? This is one thing off my bucket list!

“It was mind blasting! One level above mind blowing” – Nickhun, 2PM during their What Time Is It? Manila Tour —was nowhere near what I felt during that time!! I was just… ecstatic!

He was perfect. I didn’t imagine that someone can look so good like him! It felt like I was in front of a mannequin!!

And so from that day, I swore that whenever he goes to Manila, I’d definitely have to see him again! And support his projects here as well.

Can you now imagine how fast my heart was beating when I was reading the article about his album city tour!?

I screamed and told my eonnie and my mother about it right away and I said that I will be saving money as soon as I could.

I am so excited for this tour and I hope it will really push through!

As for the album, I will of course buy one. I hope there will be closer interactions between his fans and him.

I hope I get to be one of the lucky ones as well 🙂

That is it for now.

Time to study for my KOREAN 1 finals tomorrow!

Wish me luck!
